- Continuity is enabled for your Account.
- Compose is enabled via Mimecast Administration Console | Users & Groups | Applications, to ensure that End User applications allow End Users to compose a message.

Configuring Large File Send
Large File Send enables users to safely send and receive files up to 2 GB in size. The ability to receive files through the Large File Send feature requires the configuration of the Large File Send Pro (2 GB limit) setting in the Mimecast Administration Console.
Once configured, users can receive Large File Send attachments through the Large File Send Portal, from the following Mimecast applications:
- Mimecast for Outlook.
- Mimecast Personal Portal.
You can configure Large File Send, by using the following steps:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Navigate to Users & Groups | Applications.
- Click on either:
- The New Application Setting button.
- A previously created Application Setting.
- Under the Common Application Settings section, use the Lookup buttons to select:
- The Group the setting should apply to.
- The Authentication Profile the setting should apply to.
- Scroll down and click on the LFS Settings section. The Large File Send Package option displays.
- Select Pro - 2 GB Limit.
- You can also adjust the expiration period for Large File Send files (maximum 90 days) in the LFS Settings section.
- Click on Save and Exit.
After the Large File Send setting is saved, it can take up to 15 minutes to take effect in the relevant Mimecast application. You'll need to restart the application to see the changes made.
You can restrict Large File Send access to specific user groups by selecting particular groups and Authentication Profiles during setup. If the LFS button is unavailable to users, verify that their Authentication profile has the necessary LFS settings configured.
Adjusting File Expiration Settings
You can adjust the expiration period for Large File Send files (up to a maximum of 90 days) in the LFS Settings section. This includes both the Maximum Invitation Expiration Period and Expire Access to the Files After settings.
Troubleshooting LFS Issues
If you encounter problems with Large File Send:
- Verify that users are part of the Large File Send Application in your settings.
- Check the Cancelled Items in the Large File Send Manager.
- If LFS stops working after disabling Microsoft Direct Send, you may need to create an Inbound Connector in Microsoft 365 to recognize Mimecast's sending IPs as authenticated.
- For persistent issues, contact Mimecast Support with details about the error.
Retrieving Files via the Large File Send Portal
This section explains how end users will access the Large File Send portal to retrieve uploaded files.
- When someone has shared Large Files with you, you will receive a notification in your mailbox. Click on the name of the file you wish to access.
- A web browser will open and load the Large File Send portal. Depending on the options selected when sending the Large File Send message, the end user will either be:
- Prompted for an Access Key which can be obtained by clicking on the Get Access Key button.
- Logged into the Large File Send Portal.
Administrators cannot retrieve the access key from the Mimecast console. The access key is set by the individual sender and is only known to them.
- Once you have successfully logged in, the Large File Send portal is displayed and you will be able to download your attachments.
- Files can be downloaded in the following ways:
- Individually selecting Download next to the file.
- In batches by multi-selecting the required files.
- Download all files listed by selecting Download All.
