This article contains information on completing the Request for Information (RFI) form necessary for configuring a customer's Mimecast account, detailing the steps to access and fill out the form, and the importance of accurate infrastructure selection.
Once an Order is submitted, an automated email containing a link to the RFI form is sent to the customer's Implementation Lead.
- The RFI form is required to configure the customer's Mimecast account.
- Implementation cannot begin until the RFI details steps are submitted. Once complete, Mimecast will have sufficient information to configure the customer's account.
To access and complete the RFI form:
- Click Menu | Customers | In Progress from the Partner Portal Home Screen
The Implementation Status In-Progress page will contain a list of all the customer accounts currently in progress.
- These accounts have not completed their implementation stage.
- The RFI column will show the status:
- Or N/A- Where the customer is using another onboarding application.
- Click the Red
next to the customer whose RFI form is to be completed.
- The Customer Summary Details section is automatically populated from the customer's record and cannot be changed. However, the MSP must specify the Technical Contact Details to be used in case of issues, which should be a technical staff member.
Specify Contact details for Delegating Access via the MSP Portal.
- Specify Emergency Contact details.
- First and Last Name.
- Email.
- Mobile Number.
- Partner Administrator Email.
Mimecast recommends using unique email address logins for all administrators as a part of our security best practice.
The infrastructure selected will determine what questions Mimecast will ask; therefore, it is essential that the chosen infrastructure is accurate.
Questions Mimecast will ask include but are not limited to:
- Outbound IP addresses
- Inbound IP addresses
- Email Domain Names
- Additional IP addresses
- Forwarding email addresses
- Smart Hosts
- Recipient validations
Considerations
- Implementation cannot start until the RFI form is complete. The partner can also complete the RFI as part of the ordering process, so it is recommended that the RFI is completed once the order is placed.
- If the RFI is not completed, or the case is not responded to, the project may be closed. Partners will need to place a new order or work with their account representative to restart the onboarding process.
