This article contains information on blocking senders or domains and reporting spam or phishing emails in Mimecast Mobile, including step-by-step instructions and the actions triggered when reporting suspicious emails.
Overview
Once an email is selected from the Online Inbox or from search results, you can perform the following actions:
- Block the sender's email address.
- Block the entire domain of the sender's email address.
- Report Spam.
- Report Phishing.
Blocking a Sender or Domain
You can block a sender or domain, by using the following steps:
- Navigate to the required email in the Mimecast Mobile app.
- Click on the sender's profile image or email address. A popup menu displays.

Select Block Sender to block the individual sender, or Block Domain to block the full domain.
- The sender or domain is added to your Blocked Senders list.
Reporting Spam or Phishing
Administrators can trace reports from the Mimecast Administration Console, under Audit Logs. See Filtering Audit Logs for more information.
Reporting an item as spam or phishing automatically triggers the following actions:
- The sender of the email is added to your Blocked Senders list.
- The email is forwarded to the Mimecast Security Team for analysis.
You can report an item as spam or phishing by using the following steps:
- Navigate to the required email in the Mimecast Mobile app.
- Select the More dotted icon from the top right hand corner. A popup menu displays.

Select the Report Spam, or the Report Phishing option.
- The sender is added to your Blocked Senders list and your feedback is recorded.
Spam or junk emails are unsolicited messages, usually commercial in nature, that may also contain disguised links to malicious sites.
Phishing emails will typically direct you to visit a website where you're asked to update personal information, such as a password or bank account number, that the legitimate organization already has.
