Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce enhancements to the Unified Search feature within the Search & Discover application. These updates provide administrators and compliance teams with greater flexibility, improved AI-driven insights, and expanded export options across multiple communication platforms including email and Slack.
What's changing

Expanded Data Sources: Unified Search now supports consolidated searches across additional collaboration platforms, including Slack and email.
Advanced Filtering: New filtering options allow refined searches by data type, modification status, attachments, and AI analysis results.
AI-Driven Insights: Enhanced AI analysis offers sentiment analysis, toxic speech detection, and multilingual support.
Export Improvements: Users can now export messages and marked content in additional formats (CSV, DAT, PDF, JSON, EML, PST), with options to include context, images, and files.

User Experience Updates: Improved interface for viewing search criteria, message context, and toggling between plain text and HTML views for emails.
Role Management: Streamlined process for assigning Aware permissions and creating custom roles for Search & Discover access.
Audit Enhancements: More detailed export logs for compliance and audit purposes.
These updates are not available to customers hosted on the Jersey grid.
Recommended actions
No immediate action is required as a result of these enhancements. However, Mimecast recommends that administrators review and update role permissions to ensure the appropriate users have access to new Unified Search features. Consult your organization's compliance and security requirements to determine if role or export settings should be adjusted.
