Overview
This Getting Started guide is designed to help you navigate the key steps for setting up Search & Discover for Email.
Prerequisites
- You must have either a Super Administrator or Full Administrator role for the Mimecast Administration Console to accept the disclaimer when first accessing Search & Discover for email.
- A Full Administrator or Super Administrator should log into the Mimecast Administration Console, go to Governance & Compliance in the left menu, and select Aware. Accept the Disclaimer to access menu options for administrators with Aware permissions.
Getting Started
To get started with Search & Discover for Email, please see the following steps:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Create a new user. See Directories - Creating & Editing Users.
- Update permissions for the new user, to ensure they have Aware permissions. See the Prerequisites section of Archiving - Search & Discover for Email, and Archiving - Unified Login.
- The following roles have Aware permissions by default: Super Admin, Full Admin, Discovery Officer, Reviewer.
- You can also create a custom role with Aware permissions by ensuring that Enable Aware = Read.
- Log in to Aware.
- In the Mimecast Administration Console, navigate to Archive | Aware.
- Click on System Settings in the lower left corner.
- Add the user in the Aware System Settings with appropriate RBAC permissions, etc. See:
