Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce that we are rolling out Multi-Vector Threat Protection (MVTP) to all Mimecast customers in a phased deployment across regions. This means Mimecast is enhancing email security efficacy for all existing Email Security Cloud Gateway customers, regardless of whether you have an active CyberGraph policy.
What's changing
- MVTP will become available as a policy option in the Mimecast Administration Console for all accounts. Previously, this was CyberGraph-only. See Multi-Vector Threat Protection for how to configure your MVTP policy.
- MVTP provides coordinated detection across multiple threat vectors – if you don't have Cybergraph this will be URL indicators, spam indicators, and Mimecast intel feeds. It will analyze emails and threat indicators holistically rather than in isolation.
- Phased deployment will be completed globally by January 23rd, 2026. For the policy to take action on suspicious messages, it will need to be moved to quarantine mode. To observe what the policy impact would be on deliverability, you can run it in monitor mode first.
Recommended actions
If you are migrating to a new bundle, the Monitor mode policy will be activated by default
If you are an existing customer remaining on old bundles, you will have to manually activate the policy in monitor mode or quarantine mode. Speak to to your Customer Support Manager to help you activate this functionality.
