End User Applications - Reporting

Mimecast has three end-user reporting methods that integrate directly with Microsoft Outlook, with End-User Reporting being the newest option available. This is the preferred solution for reporting. The methods for reporting include Mimecast Essentials for Outlook, Mimecast for Outlook, and Outlook End-User Reporting

Considerations

  • Outlook End-User Reporting is not compatible with on-premises Exchange environments. If you want to use end-user reporting, you must use the existing reporting methods.
  • If you are only interested in reporting messages in Microsoft 365, Outlook End-User Reporting is easier to deploy and easier to use for end-users. However, if you want to provide other functionality besides reporting, you will need to combine Microsoft Native Reporting with either of the other available methods.

Combining methods will result in the end-user having multiple reporting buttons.
This is offset by the fact the Microsoft is changing Outlook to not contain buttons available in the ribbons by default.
For Outlook End-User Reporting, this is not a problem, as those are always available in the ribbon by default.
