eDiscovery Reviewer - Adding Comments

We are excited to introduce enhanced functionalities and streamlined eDiscovery workflows with Case Review, which offers unparalleled efficiency and effectiveness in managing your investigations. Explore Case Review now!

This guide explains how to add short comments (up to 200 characters) to messages. End users who have access to review messages captured by Discovery Cases and those who want to add a comment to a message but not change its status can use this feature. This is useful to either:

  • Collaborate with other reviewers.
  • Add a reference as to why a message was marked in the chosen way.

You can add a comment at the same time as setting a message's status. See the "Changing a Message's Status and Adding a Comment" section of the eDiscovery Reviewer - Reviewing Messages page for full details.

Walkthrough

Comments cannot be edited or deleted once they've been added.

Adding comments to messages is specific to the selected review only. When a message is part of multiple reviews, comments added under one review will not be visible or available to other reviews. Comments are visible to all reviewers assigned to the review.

A comment can be added via one of the following methods:

  • Message toolbar icon.
  • Message footer.
  • Viewing a Message in a separate tab.

Adding a Comment via a Message's Toolbar Icon

To add a comment to a message, without setting its status, via the message's toolbar icon:

Adding a Comment via a Message's Tab

By default, when you click on a message, it is previewed in the same tab as the other messages. However, you can open a message in it's own tab.  This allows you to focus on just that message's content.
