Mimecast Administration Console - Workspace

This article contains information on configuring, managing, and navigating to Workspaces in the Mimecast Administration Console, including steps for creating, editing, favoriting, and deleting Workspaces, to streamline workflows.

Overview

Workspaces consist of a consolidated list of selected pages that will open as Tabs from the Administration Console which can assist users in accessing multiple pages simultaneously and streamline their workflows.

Steps on how to configure and access Workspaces are outlined in the video and instructions below. 

Creating a Workspace

The Open Workspace option will take you to the page displaying your existing Workspace(s), and the Launch Workspace option can be used to open the Workspace(s).

You can create a Workspace, by using the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
  2. From the Mimecast Administration Console Dashboard, click on the Workspaces suitcase icon, then click on Create New Workspace.

  1. The Create Workspace page opens. Complete the Details section by entering:
    • Title.
    • Description (optional).
      • You can set Toggle this option to mark this as a Favorite Workspace to on, to mark this Workspace as a Favorite.

        You can Favorite up to ten (10) Workspaces, while creating or after creating each Workspace

  1. Click the Select a page to add field and choose the Administration Console pages that should be added to the Workspace.

  • You can select a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of ten (10) pages to a single Workspace.
  • Pages that have already been added to the Workspace will be grayed out.
  1. Click on Save.

You will see a notification confirming that the Workspace has been created successfully:

Editing a Workspace 

You can edit a Workspace, by using the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
  2. From the Mimecast Administration Console Dashboard, click on the Workspaces suitcase icon, then click on Open Workspace.

  1. The Workspaces homepage opens, and displays your saved Workspaces.

  2. You can manage your Favorites, by by adding or removing the star icon next to each Workspace.

    You can Favorite up to ten (10) Workspaces, while creating or after creating each Workspace.

  3. To make changes to a Workspace, click on Edit next to it.
  4. Once the Workspace page is visible, you can amend: 
    • Details:
      • Title and Description.

    • Pages:
      • Reposition Pages: This can be done by either:
        • Clicking the three-dot icon option under Action and selecting Move Page Up or Move Page Down.
        • Dragging and Dropping pages using the icon next to the Page Title.
      • Add Pages by clicking on the Select a page to add field.
      • Remove Pages: This can be done by clicking the three-dot icon under Action.

  1. Click on Save.

You will see a notification confirming that the workspace has been updated successfully:

Editing Workspaces pages can be done by clicking on Edit Workspace, that appears once a Workspace has been launched to the right of the Page Titles, as shown in the image below:

Navigating to a Favorited Workspace

You can navigate to a Favorite Workspace, by using the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
  2. From the Mimecast Administration Console Dashboard, click on the Workspaces suitcase icon, then select the required Favorite Workspace.

Deleting a Workspace 

You can delete a Workspace, by using the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
  2. From the Mimecast Administration Console Dashboard, click on the Workspaces suitcase icon, then click on Open Workspace.

  1. Click on Edit to open the Workspace page.

  1. Click on Delete at the top of the page.

  1. Click on Delete again to confirm the removal of the Workspace.

You will see a notification confirming that the Workspace has been deleted successfully:

You can also click on the Edit Workspace that appears once a Workspace has been launched to the right of the Page Titles, and then click on Delete.
