  • Branding is not supported - the Mimecast Personal Portal Add-in will always open the standard Mimecast Personal Portal.
  • We cannot control how Microsoft present add-ins in Microsoft Outlook, this differs between Microsoft Outlook versions.
  • The Mimecast Personal Portal Add-in supported for the Primary Outlook user.

Q: How long do sessions persist?
A: Login Sessions are controlled by the setting within the user's Authentication Profile.
Q: What if I'm already logged into the Mimecast Personal Portal?
A:

If you're logged in as Primary Outlook user, you'll be redirected to the Mimecast Personal Portal via Mimecast Universal Login (MUL).

Q: What if I'm logged into MPP (or another application) as a different user?
A: If you're logged in as different user, MUL will attempt to login as the primary Microsoft Outlook user (the same as opening a new login to the Mimecast Personal Portal).
Q: How does this application work with Mimecast Essentials for Outlook and Mimecast for Outlook?
A: They are independent applications.
Q: What about issues when in the Mimecast Personal Portal?
A: This Add-in does not change anything within Mimecast Personal Portal; any Mimecast Personal Portal issues should be looked at as they are today.
Q: Where can I get Logs?
A: Administrators can view Authentication (AAAS) logs via Account | Audit Logs, in the Mimecast Administration Console.
Deployment issues would need to be investigated within your Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Exchange environment.

A: No, there is no specific guidance for AAA / FAA.
Q: Where is the MPP Outlook add-in located in New Outlook for Windows or Outlook on the Web (OWA)?
A:

The MPP add-in is located in the ribbon towards the right side. Please ensure a folder or message is clicked to active the MPP add-in.

The plugin can also be activated by selecting a message within the Inbox and then selecting the MPP icon near the reply buttons.

A:
  • Select a message from the Inbox.
  • Click the ellipsis below the time the message was sent.
  • Scroll down and select the Mimecast Personal Portal app to launch the MPP.
