This article contains information on the Mimecast Personal Portal Outlook Add-in, that enables quick access to the Mimecast Personal Portal directly from Microsoft Outlook. It is intended for End Users.
Overview
Once deployed to your mailbox, the Mimecast Personal Portal Outlook Add-in adds a Personal Portal icon to Microsoft Outlook, allowing you to quickly access all functionality provided by the Mimecast Personal Portal.
Access, authentication and the features available within the Mimecast Personal Portal when using the Add-in are the same as if you are accessing the Mimecast Personal Portal directly.
Prerequisites

Using the Mimecast Personal Portal Add-in
Personal Portal Icon
The Personal Portal icon will show in the Microsoft Outlook ribbon, and will look different depending on the version of Microsoft Outlook that you are using.

Navigation to the Mimecast Personal Portal from Microsoft Outlook
You can navigate to the Mimecast Personal Portal from Microsoft Outlook by using the following steps:
- Log in to Microsoft Outlook.
- Click on the Personal Portal icon, via the Microsoft Outlook ribbon.
- A side-panel is displayed and you will need to log in to Mimecast. Authentication is carried out as for Mimecast Personal Portal - Logging in & Setting your Password.
- Once you've successfully authenticated, the Mimecast Personal Portal opens in your default browser.
- Once you have authenticated, your session will be persisted in line with your Authentication Profile setting, meaning you will not be required to log in again when accessing until your session expires.
